About me
I am a consultant medical oncologist with my NHS practice at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre, Northwood, UK. I see private patients at LOC Harley Street and BMI Bishops Wood. My specialist interests are the treatment of malignant melanoma, renal cell carcinoma and merkel cell carcinoma. My clinical training was through Cambridge and London having had an earlier scientific career in academia and the pharmaceutical industry.
I chair the NCRI Bladder and Renal Carcinoma Clinical Studies Group. I am EORTC Uveal Melanoma lead, International Rare Cancer Initiative (IRCI) UK Uveal melanoma lead and chairs the UK guideline group on Uveal Melanoma.
I am UK chief investigator and steering committee member for many academic and pharma sponsored melanoma, renal carcinoma and merkel cell carcinoma studies. I have authored over 100 papers and book chapters and am an advisory board member for a number of pharmaceutical companies. I am a trustee of Melanoma Focus the UK national melanoma charity and Kidney Cancer UK and The Cancer Treatment and Research Trust and have a national Clinical Excellence Award.
