About me

Dr. Heidi Thompson is a Clinical Psychologist (HCPC registered) and a Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society with over 20 years' experience. She has worked extensively with children, young people, and adults across a range of NHS secondary and specialist care services, as well as within schools and Social Services.

Heidi is passionate about helping individuals reconnect with their sense of identity, strengthen relationships at home and work, and rediscover the hope and freedom rooted in early life. She has a particular interest in the impact of adverse early experiences on later development, and how the emotional echoes of these events can resurface and influence wellbeing in adulthood.

Her doctoral training in Clinical Psychology, combined with specialist experience at Great Ormond Street Hospital, the Maudsley Hospital and within Social Care, enables her to draw on a range of evidence based models. She primarily uses Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) and EMDR, underpinned by a humanistic and trauma informed approach. Heidi also has extensive expertise in developmental trauma, PTSD, OCD, attachment related difficulties, and supporting parents, carers and professionals.
