About me
Dr Peter Bale is an experienced Consultant Paediatric Rheumatologist. He qualified from the University of Birmingham Medical School in 2006 and completed Specialty training in Paediatrics in the East of England in 2016. During this time he received specialist Paediatric Rheumatology Training at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, Sheffield Children's Hospital, and the Jenny Lind Children's Hospital in Norwich. He is a Fellow of Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (FRCPCH) and holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Medical Education from the University of Cambridge (PGCME).
Dr Bale's NHS work is based at Cambridge University Hospital (Addenbrookes), where he was appointed as a substantive consultant in 2017. He leads the Child and Adolescent East of England Rheumatology Service (CHEERS). He is also the Paediatric Musculoskeletal lead for the National Stickler Syndrome Service, based in Cambridge.
Dr Bale currently consults privately at Gilmour Piper in Ipswich, The Back and Body Clinic Moulton and now at Momentm Health in Cambridge. He sees children and young people up to the age of 18 years old.
Areas of interest
All aspects of paediatric rheumatology and musculoskeletal health for those aged 0-18 years old. This includes both inflammatory and non-inflammatory conditions.
Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA), growth related pain, hypermobility, Hereditary Connective Tissue Disorders, Juvenile inflammatory myositis/dermatomyositis (JDM), Childhood onset systemic lupus erythematosus (JSLE), periodic fever syndromes and Raynaud's phenomenon.
