Current NHS consultant posts held

Dr Mukherjee has been working at Basildon University Hospital as a consultant chest physician since 2001.
In his NHS work, Dr Mukherjee is clinical lead for the Respiratory Department and also lead for COPD, tuberculosis, pleural disease, oxygen and EBUS (endobronchial ultrasound) .
Dr Mukherjee also has an interest in bronchoscopy, thoracoscopy and lung cancer and works closely with his cardiothoracic colleagues at the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre.

Dr Mukherjee has been invited to lecture as an external speaker in various national conferences and has given lectures to trainees in and out of the region.
Dr Mukherjee also helps to train consultants from across the region in interventions.

Dr Mukherjee won the national Hospital Doctor award for COPD in 2005 and has won a chief executive’s gold award in his NHS hospital for excellent clinical commitment.
