About me
You may wish to move through life with more ease, get curiousor make sense of your experiences and relationships.
Life can be challenging and in a world that can often require a disconnection from ourselves, counselling and psychotherapy can be an empowering and personal experience of reconnection - offering a space to return to your voice, values and authentic self. ??
Whether you're grappling with a specific past or present challenge, feeling anxious or down, making pivotal life choices, or simply seeking a space to understand yourself better and gain practical tools for daily life, get in touch to see how I can support you.
I truly believe that as hard as it can be, talking about what you are facing can take the power out of some of the feelings and thoughts that can make you feel stuck or isolated. Sometimes it is easier to talk to someone impartial and non-judgemental, who is outside of your family or friends for this support. I wish to encourage you to take this step and will be alongside you as you do so.
I'm Emma Dillon (she/her), an integrative psychotherapist and counsellor, with 15 years' and 8,000+ client hours experience of working in physical, holistic, and mental health, having supported many clients to explore who they are, heal, and grow in ways that feel collaborative, authentic and grounded.
The core of my practice is person centered and building on this foundation, I draw from a range of evidence based approaches and modalities including trauma-informed practice, mindfulness-based approaches, creative tools, and cognitive techniques. The way we work together will reflect your uniqueness.
The process of therapy has been powerful, transformative and important in my own life and I have a deep appreciation for the potential it holds. This inspires me and drives my intention to hold space for others.
I've supported individuals and groups across a wide range of needs, and continue to feel deeply honoured to do this work.
My practice is rooted in empowerment, compassion, and connection.
My extensive training and experience equip me to help you navigate challenges with self-compassion and confidence.
I specialize in identity; self-esteem, relationships and LGBTQ+ wellbeingMy aim is that you feel seen, heard, and supported exactly as you are.
Our relationship will be central to the work we do. I believe that therapy isn't about fixing youit's about creating a space where you can understand yourself and those around you more clearly, connect with your inner resources, and move forward in a way that feels right for you.
Whether you've had therapy before or this is all new, you're welcome to bring your questions and hesitations. We'll move at your pace.
The therapeutic relationship we build is central to our work together, and my approach is tailored to your unique needs. Our sessions may integrate trauma-informed practices, mindfulness-based techniques, creative strategies, and cognitive tools, all designed to support you in finding solutions and conclusions that resonate with who you are.
I offer both short-term (6 weeks) and long-term therapy, depending on what suits you best. Sessions are 1 hour long and can be scheduled weekly or fortnightly. Whether you are new to counselling or have previous experience, your questions are welcome, and we will collaborate closely throughout the process.
As an accredited member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), I adhere to their ethical standards, ensuring confidentiality and professionalism.
