Mr. Hussien is an experienced ophthalmic surgeon with a specialized focus on cornea, cataract, and laser vision correction surgery. He possesses advanced skills in managing cataract (cloudy natural lens) through the use of premium intraocular lenses (IOL), including Toric, Trifocal, Multifocal, and EDOF IOLs. His expertise extends to laser and lens-based vision corrective surgery for short sightedness, long sightedness, impaired near vision, and astigmatism. He has extensive experience in the management of a variety of corneal conditions including keratoconus and the use of femtosecond laser Corneal ring insertion for keratoconus treatment, corneal transplantations, including advanced lamellar corneal transplant surgery and sutureless corneal transplantation.
Mr. Hussien has gained extensive clinical experience by completing two prestigious fellowships in corneal diseases and corneal surgery � one at Southend University Hospital and another at the renowned Queen Victoria Hospital at East Grinstead.
In addition to his surgical expertise, Mr. Hussien is an experienced lecturer with a proven history in clinical, medical education and research. He has a crucial role as educational and clinical supervisor to the ophthalmology trainees. Mr. Hussien has a prominent role as associate college tutor and examiner at the Royal college of Ophthalmologists and responsible for undergraduate, postgraduate and international medical graduates at Newcastle university.
With a strong academic background, Mr. Hussien holds a Master's Degree and PhD Degree focused on the management of ocular diseases from the esteemed Alexandria University.
