About me
David Iles is a Consultant Urogynaecologist with subspecialty accreditation in Urogynaecology, specialising exclusively in pelvic floor disorders, including vaginal prolapse, urinary incontinence and overactive bladder. He serves as Clinical Lead for Urogynaecology at The Warrell Unit, St Mary's Hospital, Manchester, where he manages complex pelvic floor conditions within the NHS and contributes to the regional mesh complications service.
With over a decade of dedicated experience in the management of complex pelvic floor conditions, Mr Iles offers both conservative and surgical treatment options tailored to each individual's goals, lifestyle and concerns. He understands that symptoms such as prolapse and incontinence can be distressing or difficult to discuss, and provides a calm, supportive and highly professional environment where patients feel able to speak openly and confidently.
His practice is centred on evidence-based, individualised care. He develops comprehensive treatment plans that may include conservative strategies such as specialist pelvic floor physiotherapy, alongside advanced reconstructive surgical options when appropriate. Where surgery is required, he prioritises minimally invasive techniques, including laparoscopic and robotic-assisted approaches where suitable, with the aim of restoring function and improving quality of life.
In addition to his clinical work, Mr Iles plays a national role in subspecialty training through the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, contributing to the development of professional training standards within urogynaecology.
