About me

Mr Bernard (Ben) van Duren is a dual fellowship?trained Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in hip and knee replacement and the management of hip conditions in younger and active patients. He is committed to providing personalised, evidence?based care that helps people reduce pain, restore mobility, and return confidently to the activities that matter most to them.

He then undertook two years of advanced fellowship training with internationally renowned surgeons in Nottingham and Northumbria, gaining expertise in complex hip and knee surgery. He has also trained across Europe, developing particular experience in the anterior approach to hip replacement, a technique that may support quicker recovery for suitable patients.

He is also Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Engineering at the University of Leeds, with over 70 peer?reviewed publications.
