About me
** This isn't a real profile, it's a demonstration one to show consultants the kind of information that Bupa customers need to help them choose who to see. **
Conditions treated and procedures
I can help with a wide range of urology-related issues in women and children, including:
Recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs) helping to find the cause and prevent future infections
Bladder problems including urgency, frequency, leaking urine (incontinence), and overactive bladder
Pelvic floor disorders including pelvic organ prolapse and bladder control issues
General urology including kidney stones, blood in the urine, and bladder pain
Minimally invasive surgery using keyhole or laser techniques for quicker recovery and less discomfort
Bladder investigations including bladder scans, flow tests, and camera checks (cystoscopy)
Catheter management support with long-term catheter use or difficulties passing urine
My training and clinical expertise
I am a highly experienced consultant urologist who specialises in caring for women and girls with bladder and pelvic floor problems. With over 12 years of experience in the NHS and private practice, I'm known for my kind, thoughtful approach and my ability to explain complex conditions in a way that's easy to understand.
I graduated with a medical degree from the University of Bristol in 2009 and completed surgical training, before specialising in urology and earning my Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons specialising in Urology in 2016.
To ensure I was at the forefront of modern techniques, I trained in advanced robotic surgery at Newcastle Surgical Training Centre and completed a prestigious fellowship in female and functional urology at Freeman Hospital in Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 2018.
I have a particular interest in helping women and children who experience repeated urinary tract infections (UTIs), bladder control issues, or pelvic floor problems. I use the latest minimally invasive techniques to diagnose and treat these conditions, helping patients recover more quickly and with less discomfort.
I provide evidence-based, holistic and patient-centred care, ensuring that every treatment plan is tailored to individual needs and supported by the latest clinical research.
