About me

Mr Zubair Tahir is an experienced Consultant Paediatric Neurosurgeon, who is passionate about delivering the highest quality care to all children. He is head of paediatric neurosurgery department at the world-renowned Great Ormond Street hospital (GOSH) and a consultant neurosurgeon at Portland Children Hospital. Mr Tahir is honorary Associate Professor at the UCL Institute of Child Health, London, UK.
Mr Tahir believes in collaboration with other specialist teams and understands the importance of good communication skills to provide best treatment options to the children and their families including conservative management. He welcomes patients and families seeking second opinion.

Mr Tahir treats patients from across the UK and internationally for complex paediatric neurosurgical conditions. He has one of the largest practices in UK treating complex congenital and acquired spinal pathologies in children. He is also expert in surgical treatment for drug resistant epilepsy.

Mr Tahir is author of several publications in international journals and has presented at international congresses in the USA, UK, Europe, and Asia. Mr. Tahir has received numerous national and international prizes and honours. At the end of his training, he received best surgical trainee award and excellence in research award by Aga Khan University. He won outstanding performance award in European Neurosurgery examination. Mr Tahir is also a recipient of young Asian neurosurgeon award presented by Asian Congress of Neurological Surgeons (ACNS).

Outside work, Mr Tahir loves spending time with his young family, travelling, and long-distance running.
