About me
Hi I'm Alan Garber, a fully accredited CBT therapist dedicated to guiding individuals through their mental health journeys with empathy, compassion, and professional expertise. Utilising the principles of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), I provide a safe and supportive environment for clients to improve their emotional, cognitive, and behavioural well-being.
My Approach
My therapeutic practice is enriched by a diverse background, including my experience as a hospital chaplain. This role deepened my appreciation for the significant role spiritual and emotional support plays in the healing process. I specialise in behavioural activation and mindfulness, working collaboratively with clients to create personalized strategies tailored to their unique needs. My approach blends motivational skills with deep compassion, taking into account each client's cultural, spiritual, and personal background to ensure a holistic path to wellness.
Position at Priory
Since December 2021, I have been proud to serve as a therapist at Priory Hospital North London, part of a renowned Gen Psych team, running group and individual therapy. I am a fully accredited member of the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy (BABCP), which helps me stay updated with the latest and most effective CBT practices. My commitment is to deliver the highest standard of care to all my clients.
I have also have had training in ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy)
