About me
I was appointed as a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine in September 2001 after completing my training from Barts and London School of Anaesthesia. I regularly manage a Critical Care Unit of nineteen beds at Watford General Hospital. Apart from considerable experience in Anaesthesia for various surgical specialities, I also have vast experience in Anaesthesia for patients undergoing elective colorectal surgery. I have anaesthetised over two thousand patients undergoing colorectal procedures to date at Watford General Hospital and at Spire Bushey Hospital. Having formulated and implemented protocols for peri-operative care for patients undergoing colorectal surgery, it is an accolade that our Trust is performing well above National Standards in every aspect of patient care. As the lead Clinician for Pre-operative assessment at West Herts NHS Trust, I expanded, standardised and advanced pre-operative care for patients undergoing all elective surgery.
I have also obtained a Diploma in Medical Ethics from Kings College, London University after my Fellowship in Anaesthesia. This has been invaluable in making the appropriate decisions in my clinical practice.
