About me

Mr Daniel Howard is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in hip and knee surgery, with expertise in joint replacement, complex primary procedures, and revision arthroplasty. He treats adults with the full range of hip and degenerative knee conditions, from early arthritis to advanced joint disease and problems related to previous surgery.

He offers total hip replacement, total knee replacement, partial knee replacement, including and robotic assisted techniques. In private practice he reviews patients with painful or problematic hip replacements, with revision procedures performed within his NHS role. His practice also includes the management of hip impingement, trochanteric pain, Baker's cysts, and general orthopaedic trauma.

Mr Howard completed higher surgical training in the East Midlands and specialist fellowship training in complex hip and knee arthroplasty. He has strong interests in enhanced recovery, modern implant technology, and evidence?based care. He is active in research, teaching, quality?improvement work, and has contributed to national committees and training faculty.

His approach focuses on clear communication, shared decision making, and coordinated multidisciplinary care from first assessment through to recovery. He sees private patients at Nuffield Health Leicester Hospital and Spire Leicester Hospital.
