About me

I am a UK-trained Consultant Dermatologist with extensive experience in diagnosing and treating the full range of skin, hair and nail conditions in both adults and children. I provide clear, evidence-based care for common problems such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea and hair loss, as well as rapid assessment of changing moles, suspicious lesions and possible skin cancer.

Patients often seek my opinion for persistent rashes, unexplained itching, skin lumps and bumps, or conditions that have not responded to previous treatment. I offer comprehensive skin checks, mole assessment and skin cancer screening, together with medical, surgical and laser treatments where appropriate.

My approach is thorough, calm and patient-centred. I take time to explain diagnoses and treatment options clearly, ensuring you feel confident and informed about your care. Where needed, I can arrange investigations, biopsies or procedures promptly to avoid unnecessary delays.

I aim to provide a seamless experience from first consultation through to treatment and follow-up, with a focus on achieving the best possible clinical and cosmetic outcomes.

Research interests

I have a strong interest in dermatological research across both medical and procedural dermatology, with particular focus on eczema, psoriasis, acne, laser surgery, skin cancer, scarring (including acne scarring), and skin surgery outcomes. I previously served as co-editor of Clinical and Experimental Dermatology, one of the UK’s leading dermatology journals, reflecting my commitment to advancing evidence-based practice. My research also explores the patient experience, and I was awarded an international prize for my work on the psychological impact of laser treatments. I remain actively engaged in research and innovation to ensure my patients benefit from the most up-to-date and effective treatments available.

Personal interests

Outside of work, I enjoy maintaining an active lifestyle and value time spent with family and friends. I have a keen interest in fitness and wellbeing, and I am particularly interested in how lifestyle factors influence overall health, including skin health. I also enjoy travelling and experiencing different cultures, which I find both enriching and grounding alongside a busy clinical practice.

I am actively involved in delivering teaching and educational sessions to primary care colleagues, including talks and seminars on common dermatological conditions such as acne vulgaris and the recognition of skin cancer.
