About me
Dr Andrew Cairns is a Consultant Rheumatologist based at Musgrave Park Hospital, Belfast, Northern Ireland, where he was appointed in 2004. He is an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at Queen's University, Belfast.
Dr Cairns is the current President of the Irish Society for Rheumatology.
Dr Cairns studied Medicine at Queens University Belfast and trained in Rheumatology in Northern Ireland and Edinburgh. He received his MD doctorate from Queen's University Belfast for his research into Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, and completed an MSc at the University of Ulster in Sport and Exercise Medicine.
Dr Cairns treats adult patients with rheumatological conditions, including all forms of arthritis and joint pain, autoimmune and connective tissue diseases, and soft tissue problems (such as tendon and muscle disorders).
