About me

Hello! I'm Megan, a psychologist and yoga teacher based in Bristol and working online. I currently only have online spaces available (until late Spring 2026).

Choosing a therapist can feel like a minefield! Below is a little about how I work to help you decide if we might be a good fit.

I offer a warm, steady presence that includes compassionately challenging any current patterns that might be causing suffering . People have fed back that they appreciate my nonjudgemental and playful attitude, and that this has supported them to talk about tricky topics and experiences they have previously felt avoidant and/or ashamed of.

I work with adults experiencing distress in all its forms and have over 10 years of NHS experience, including specialist work with complex trauma. I welcome people of all identities and am LGBTQIA+ friendly.

My approach weaves together a range of evidence-based therapies (listed in the 'Approach' and 'Interests' sections), alongside an appreciation that healing doesn't only happen in sessions. I believe in drawing on the wider supports in life, such as nature, creativity, relationships, spirituality, and the things that make you feel most like you.

I aim to fully see and hear the people I work with, and to offer what may be genuinely useful. I value diversity of experience and perspective, and I'm always open to feedback so we can shape the work together.

If you feel we might be a good match, please do get in touch at megan.amy.avery@gmail.com
And if not, I wish you all the best finding the right support for you.
