About me
Hello, I'm Abi, a HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist with experience across NHS and private practice settings, offering thoughtful, inclusive, and trauma-informed care. I work with both young people and adults, supporting them in navigating a range of psychological experiences - from anxiety, depression/low mood, and trauma, to women's health, psychosexual and relational challenges, identity exploration, and the impacts of marginalisation. I am based in London, UK and offer therapy sessions online - please note that I am only able to work with clients residing within the UK.
At the heart of my work is a creating a space where you feel safe, seen, and genuinely understood. I believe in therapy as a collaborative process - one where we can make sense of your experiences together, at your pace.
Alongside private practice, I work in an NHS community-based service and have supported clients from a wide range of backgrounds, including those exploring neurodivergence, health issues, racial identity, and experiences of discrimination. I work affirmatively with people of all genders, sexualities, and relationship structures, and welcome you exactly as you are.
How I can support you
I bring specialist experience shaped by my varied work in therapeutic services. In our sessions, we'll gently explore how early experiences, relational dynamics, trauma, or physical health challenges may be impacting your sense of self, relationships, or overall wellbeing. Together, we'll meet the parts of you that carry hurt, fear, or shame, and build a deeper, more compassionate understanding of your experience.
Therapy is a space to pause and reflect - whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply seeking change. Using trauma-informed approaches and practical techniques, I aim to support you on your journey in a way that feels affirming, respectful, and safe. It's not about having all the answers, but about giving yourself the space to explore with care and curiosity, with someone alongside you.
What to expect in your first session
Your first session is a gentle starting point - a space to get to know each other and begin exploring what brings you to therapy. There's no pressure to share anything before you're ready. We'll talk about what's been going on for you, what kind of support you're looking for, and what you hope to get from our work together.
It's also a chance for you to ask questions, get a feel for how I work, and decide whether it feels like a good fit. If we choose to continue, we'll start thinking together about a plan that feels supportive and manageable for you.
You don't need to prepare anything in advance - just find a quiet, comfortable space where you can speak freely. Whatever you're carrying, it's welcome here.
Please note: sometimes my emails may accidentally land in your junk or spam folder. To make sure you don't miss any responses, please add this address (drabipsych@outlook.com) to your trusted contacts and check your junk folder if you have not received a response from me within 2 working days.
