About me
I am a Clinical Psychologist and have worked therapeutically with adults, children, young people across the NHS, Schools and Forensic settings, for 30 years.
Passionate that change is always possible, I work closely with individuals and families, empowering them to live healthy and fulfilling lives, in line with their personal values.
I specialise in working with individuals that have experienced trauma or distressing events. Integrating a range of psychological therapies, I draw upon EMDR, cognitive-behavioural therapy, person-centred counselling, compassion-focussed therapy, and psychodynamic principles among others.
EMDR (eye movement desensitisation reprocessing) aims to help a person to re-process memories that are causing them distress or holding them back in life, so they can move on with their lives in a healthier way.
I also specialise in assessing autism and ADHD and celebrate the talents and wonderful characteristics that come with neurodiversity. I support families to navigate the struggles they may have encountered, on their journey to diagnosis, while helping them to lead a positive, authentic life, celebrating their natural strengths and values.
Warm, caring and curious, I believe connection is key for change to happen and I feel privileged to share each person's healing journey.
I provide both online and face-to-face sessions in a beautiful location in South Cumbria, The Lake District, Near Kendal.
