About me
I am a BABCP accredited CBT therapist bringing over 12 years of experience working in mental health, working for both the NHS and private sector.
My career began with two years in the prison service, where I supported those dealing with addiction and facilitated group programmes. Following this, I completed both low-intensity and high-intensity CBT training while working with a highly diverse and complex population within the NHS. More recently, I have trained in both Behavioural Couples Therapy and Eye-Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR).
As a BABCP accredited CBT therapist, I have undergone comprehensive and regulated training to deliver therapy effectively. I have substantial experience using CBT tools and strategies to help clients address challenges such as trauma, low self-esteem, anxiety disorders and depression. I specialise in working with adults (18+) in my NHS and my private talking therapies roles.
My approach to therapy is rooted in compassion. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard and supported. I understand that each person's therapy journey is unique, and I dedicate time to truly listen and understand my clients' challenges, tailoring the therapeutic process to meet their individual needs.
CBT is a highly recommended and evidence-based therapy for addressing a range of difficulties. By challenging unhelpful thinking patterns and changing unhelpful behaviours, CBT can help reduce negative emotions that often contribute to and maintain anxiety and depression.
CBT is a goal-oriented therapy that combines exploring current or past difficulties with actively applying strategies to overcome them. To maximise its effectiveness, CBT involves practicing techniques between sessions.
I am able to see patients remotely nationwide or face to face in Tunbridge Wells (Kent).
