About me

I have been a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Endoscopist since 2020 after finishing fellowships in inflammatory bowel diseases (ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease), intestinal failure and clinical nutrition, and advanced endoscopy at Oxford University Hospitals.

I am an expert in management of functional bowel diseases including difficult to treat irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), gastro oesophageal reflux disease (GERD), bloating, constipation and diarrhoea. In my NHS practice, I lead a complex enteral nutrition MDT and intestinal rehabilitation clinic where we manage complex gastrointestinal disorders with significant symptoms and nutrition issues.

I am also known as an expert endoscopist and frequently perform gastroscopy (OGD), colonoscopy and flexible sigmoidoscopy. I perform complex endoscopy procedures including previously failed/challenging procedures.

I have vast experience of treating complex and difficult to manage conditions in gastroenterology. I am an avid endoscopist having performed more than 2,000 colonoscopy and 3,000 gastroscopy including complex therapeutics e.g. complex endoscopic mucosal resection, stricture dilatation, feeding tubes etc.

I am the Endoscopy Governance and Training Lead with the North Bristol Trust. I am also a member of the Nutrition and Hydration Committee and lead a complex nutrition MDT and intestinal rehabilitation clinic at Southmead Hospital.
