About me
I am a doctoral qualified clinical psychologist, with 14 years of experience in NHS services working with adolescents and adults. Most of the people I see come because they are feeling unsatisfied with their life, are struggling to meet their expectations of themselves, or are finding that anxiety or depression is getting in the way of work or relationships. Some come because they just want to understand themselves better. My aim is to help you understand what is stuck and, in doing so, help you to feel more free to live life as you would choose.
Since completing my doctorate I have completed additional trainings in autism and working psychoanalytically with couples, parents and young people. I often find psychoanalytic ideas most useful but also bring in ideas from CBT and systemic therapies. I am experienced in working with people exploring questions about sexuality and gender.
My approach is to be an engaged presence. I believe a good therapeutic relationship is one in which it becomes possible to bring a full range of emotion sadness, anger, amusement, shame, joy I am passionate about the work I do and value the chance to think with people about the problems of being a human.
