About me

Experience
I am trained in and have years of experience working with individuals (youth, male, female and transgender) located in forensic settings, providing advanced/ specialist psychological assessments; formulation - working together with individuals to better understand their life story and current individualised needs; as well as bespoke 1-1 therapy. My current therapy focus is stabilisation and trauma/ safety-related - specifically EMDR. However, where appropriate I integrate other modalities including, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT). I have some experience of incorporating Cognitive Analytical Therapy (CAT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). The individuals I have worked with over the years have presented with a variety of complex mental health needs and high-risk presentations (safety to self/ others and offence-parallelling).

Commitment
I really enjoy working with those taking steps to engage in therapy, including when this readiness is fragile and uncertain. You've already taken a big step to reach out to The Rooms � this is enough. I'm driven to support you in better understanding your life experiences and what you feel is important to change for you in the present day. It's a privileged role being a therapist and I'm keen that any individual I work with learns to feel safe in the therapy room. You deserve to be in your best position to get the most out of the experience. I'm open and transparent with you throughout your therapy experience that I'm there to be your objective guide, while you learn to build your self-confidence in your own internal abilities to self-heal. I can work with you face-to-face at The Rooms or online, whichever is your preferred option.
