About me

I am a Consultant Rheumatologist and the Clinical/Departmental Lead at the nationally recognised Rheumatology Unit at Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust.

With extensive experience across the spectrum of joint, bone and autoimmune rheumatic conditions, I provide expert diagnosis and personalised treatment for everything from osteoarthritis, gout and fibromyalgia to rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, and complex immune-mediated diseases such as vasculitis and Behcet's disease. My approach is centred on precision medicine - combining clinical expertise, advanced diagnostics and genuine compassion to achieve the best possible outcomes for each of my patients.

As a specialist in young adult rheumatology, I established and lead an innovative service designed to ensure continuity, confidence and holistic support for patients as they transition from paediatric to adult care. I also provide dedicated rheumatology care during pregnancy, working closely with obstetric teams at Birmingham Women's Hospital to support patients safely from pre-conception through to birth.

My training at the University of Oxford has shaped my commitment to evidence-based, cutting-edge care. I continue to play an active role in research studies as a recruiter and site lead, keeping my practice at the forefront of new treatments and advances in rheumatology.

I have been honoured with several awards for clinical excellence and medical education, and I continue to teach at the Universities of Oxford and Birmingham, helping to inspire and guide the next generation of doctors. I also serve on the national Prescribing Safety Assessment Board, which oversees the prescribing examination for all UK medical students.

Alongside my clinical work, I act as an Expert Witness in Rheumatology, preparing independent, court-compliant reports on complex medical cases. I take pride in delivering opinions that are clear, objective and grounded in both expertise and integrity.
