About me

Dr Ibrahim qualified in 1985 and completed postgraduate training in London, Sheffield and Leeds in the field of Diabetes and Endocrinology. He spent 2 years as a Research Fellow in Sheffield and attained a degree of MD (Doctor of Medicine) from University of Sheffield. He was appointed as a Diabetes and Endocrinology Consultant at Queen Mary’s Hospital-Sidcup in 2000 and have been the Lead Consultant since 2001. During this period he has developed the Secondary Diabetes Service with establishment of many specialist clinics such as Pump Clinic, Joint Adolescent Clinic, Joint Antenatal Clinic, Foot Clinic, and Joint Renal Clinic. He has also worked closely with Bexley CCG to develop the Diabetes Services locally which has put Bexley on the national diabetes map and achieved top spot amongst London boroughs on many occasions and top CCGs nationally. He runs two Endocrine clinics covering wide range of endocrinological problems including Thyroid and Parathyroid Disease, Calcium Disorders, Pituitary and Adrenal Disorders, Diabetes and its complications, Electrolytes Disturbance, PCOS, Hypogonadism, Hypercholestrolaemia. In addition he takes part in the Acute General Medical Take at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich and manages General Medical, Diabetes and Endocrinology inpatients on the wards. He regularly teaches Hospital Junior Doctors, Medical Students and Primary Care Health Professionals. He is a member of a number of professional Bodies including British Medical Association, Diabetes UK, British Endocrine Society, Association of British Clinical Diabetologists, Association of American Clinical Endocrinologists.
