About me

Prof Sauid Ishaq is a leading consultant gastroenterologist and interventional endoscopist in Birmingham. He is nationally- accredited bowel cancer screener and specialises in advance endoscopy and wide range of gastrointestinal disorder, Including:

� Gastrointestinal cancers
� Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
� Barrett's oesophagus
� Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
� Coeliac disease and dietary intolerances
� Dyspepsia
� Helicobacter pylori infection
� Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) including
Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis

He is also a visiting Professor at Birmingham City University (BCU), an adjunct professor of medicine St George's university Grenada, a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (London), and an active member of the British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG) and European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE).

National Zenker Centre in the UK, taking

� Flexible endoscopic treatment for GERD
with GEDX, Introduced first in UK
� Full-thickness endoscopic resection of early
gastrointestinal cancers, First performed in
the UK
� Awarded a PhD for his novel work on

He has performed live demonstrations nationally and internationally, including introducing endoscopic Zenker treatment in Japan (2019), and continues to collaborate with leading global centres such as Fudan University, China; Bezmi Alem University, Istanbul; and St George's University, Grenada
