About me

I am a counselling psychologist registered with the HCPC. I specialise in working with children, adolescents and their families and am experienced in treating a wide range of difficulties (anxiety, mood, trauma, relational, school related, behavioural and loss). I also work individually with adults. My therapeutic style is warm, empathetic and collaborative. As a psychologist, I am trained in various therapeutic approaches (e.g. CBT, Systemic therapy, Person Centered etc) and tailor my approach to the client's needs and in line with best treatment guidelines. I work predominantly from a Psychodynamic perspective which helps clients gain self-awareness and understanding of the influence of the past on their present behaviour and of recurring patterns in emotions and relationships. I help clients uncover, understand and address the root causes of psychological distress and thereby achieve lasting change. I am highly creative and use art, sandtray therapy and play therapy to help younger clients express their inner worlds and to share that which is difficult to communicate verbally. I also work closely with parents to support them in better understanding the source of their child's difficulties and how best to assist healing. I am available online for adult and adolescent therapy and in person for all ages. I offer a free 15 minute introductory consultation for you to meet me and to discuss your therapeutic needs. Outside of the therapeutic space, I am a mum of 3 young adults, a horse lover, a nature enthusiast and an avid dog walker.
