About me

Miss Guevara holds a substantive NHS position as a Consultant Oculoplastic Surgeon at St James's University Hospital in Leeds.

Her clinical expertise includes functional and cosmetic eyelid surgery, periocular reconstruction, tear-duct (lacrimal) surgery, and orbital disease management.

Miss Guevara is triple fellowship-trained, having undertaken advanced oculoplastic fellowships at Moorfields Eye Hospital, the Royal Free Hospital, and Imperial College NHS Trust.

She was awarded the prestigious Richard Collin Scholarship by The British Oculoplastic Surgery Society in 2024. She further broadened her international experience as a Clinical Observer at the Shiley Eye Institute, University of California San Diego.

A dedicated educator, she serves as an Educational Supervisor, training the next generation of ophthalmologists and international fellows through the well-recognised Leeds Oculoplastic Fellowship Programme and is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Leeds Medical School.

She studied medicine at Trinity College Dublin graduating with honours and began her medical and ophthalmic training in Dublin before completing higher specialist training in London at Moorfields Eye Hospital, the Western Eye Hospital, and Barts Health NHS Trust. During this time, she served as Senior Resident at the Western Eye Hospital.

Originally from York, Miss Guevara returned to Yorkshire to take up a substantive consultant post at St James's University Hospital, where she is committed to delivering exceptional, patient-centred care.
