About me

Dr Mark Philip Cassar is a Consultant Cardiologist practicing in Basingstoke and Winchester. He is an expert in all aspects of cardiology, with a particular focus on valvular heart disease and advanced cardiac imaging.

With a PhD from Oxford University and triple accreditation in cardiac MRI, cardiac CT, and echocardiography, Dr Cassar offers expert diagnostic services alongside general cardiology consultations. He serves on the Executive Committee of the British Society of Cardiovascular Imaging (BSCI), is the HIT Echocardiography Representative for the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), and is an examiner for the British Society of Echocardiography (BSE).

Dr Cassar has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles in leading cardiovascular journals, and has received numerous prizes reflective of his clinical expertise.

He provides thorough cardiovascular assessments for patients with suspected or established heart disease, including chest pain evaluation, breathlessness investigation, palpitations, high blood pressure management, and cardiac risk assessment. His expertise in advanced cardiac imaging allows for precise diagnosis and treatment planning.

Consultations are available at private facilities in Basingstoke and Winchester, with a focus on providing personalized, evidence-based cardiovascular care.
