About me
Dr Shaun Foo is a dual-accredited Consultant Neurologist and Clinical Neurophysiologist based at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. He is also Co-Director of the Leeds MND Care Centre, and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Leeds.
Dr Foo completed his medical degree at the University of Manchester. He then pursued his specialist training in Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology and currently holds specialist accreditation in both specialities. He has a keen interest in electrodiagnosis, peripheral nerve diseases, and neuromuscular disorders.
His clinical practice spans a broad range of diagnostic and sub-specialist services, including complex nerve conduction studies and EMG to diagnose peripheral nerve and neuromuscular disorders, and motor neurone disease (MND). He is also trained in ultrasound-guided botulinum toxin (Botox) injections. He collaborates closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive, patient-centred care.
Dr Foo is actively involved in research, with multiple peer-reviewed publications, and presentations at national and international conferences. In his role co-leading the Leeds MND service, he is closely involved in establishing research and clinical trials at the Rob Burrow Centre for MND, with a particular focus on expanding patient access to trials and innovative treatments.
Beyond clinical practice, he is committed to medical education, and holds an honorary academic appointment as Senior Lecturer at the University of Leeds. He has led neurology teaching programmes for doctors in training, and for medical students at Leeds University Medical School.
