About me
Can you tell me a bit about your background?
After completing my undergraduate degree in Psychology at Lancaster University, I was motivated to pursue a career in clinical psychology, influenced by my family's experiences working in the mental health and care sector. Since then, I've been fortunate to work in the NHS, supporting people of all ages with a wide range of mental health difficulties, learning disabilities, and neurodiverse needs.
My experience has taken me across both inpatient and community settings, including a national autism inpatient service, supporting people with neurological conditions, forensic and secure services, and early intervention in psychosis. I have also completed my three-year doctoral training at Teesside University and am a qualified Clinical Psychologist.
What will it be like when I meet you?
When we first meet, my aim is to create a safe, comfortable, and non-judgmental space where we can get to know each other at a pace that feels right for you.
Together, we'll explore what has brought you here and think about what might be most helpful for you in moving forward. If you feel we are a good fit to work together, we'll also discuss what you can expect from me and how our sessions might look.
What therapies do you use and what kind of difficulties do you help people with?
Through my training, I have developed knowledge and skills in several therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Systemic Therapy, Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
I take an integrative approach, drawing on techniques from different models to create a style of therapy that best fits each individual. My focus is on working collaboratively to understand your needs and find the most helpful way forward.
The approaches I use can support a wide range of difficulties, including low mood, anxiety, stress, difficulties regulating emotions, relational or attachment-based difficulties, grief, trauma, and adjusting to life changes.
What are your interests outside of psychology?
In my spare time, I love staying active and spending quality time with my friends and family. Being outdoors is where I feel happiest, whether I'm exploring on a hike or snapping photos of wildlife and nature.
I often centre my travels on finding new trails to explore and wildlife or landscapes to photograph. I enjoy a wide range of music genres and love the atmosphere of gigsthere's nothing quite like the buzz of live music with a great crowd. I also appreciate the quieter moments, like cooking a meal and getting lost in a good book.
