About me
Dr Rahul Mukherjee is a Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist based in London and East Sussex. His path in medicine has always been guided by a deep curiosity, a drive for excellence, and a genuine desire to make a difference. Early on, he discovered that success, whether in personal pursuits or professional life, comes from discipline, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to growth.
That same philosophy now defines his approach to medicine. Every patient deserves not only expert care but also the reassurance that they are in trusted hands. For Dr Mukherjee, medicine is more than a profession. It is a lifelong dedication to helping others live healthier, more confident lives.
He has expertise in all aspects of general cardiology including the diagnosis and treatment of chest pain, palpitations, blackouts, dizziness and breathlessness. He also sees patients who have high blood pressure or high cholesterol and can provide guidance on lowering the risks of developing cardiovascular disease.
He has special expertise in heart rhythm disorders and performs catheter ablation for atrial and ventricular arrhythmias as well as permanent pacemaker and defibrillator implantation. He also has an interest in advanced cardiac imaging including performing cardiac MRI scans to aid diagnosis and guide management.
Dr Mukherjee completed a PhD at King's College London focused on using MRI guidance to guide catheter ablation. He has published widely, gained recognition through national awards, delivered presentations at major international conferences and attracted significant research grant income both as a Chief Investigator and co-investigator. He completed a clinical sub-specialty fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology and devices at King's College Hospital and a dedicated fellowship in catheter ablation of ventricular tachycardia at St George's Hospital as part of the AVATAR program.
He is dedicated to providing personalised, supported and evidence-based care using the latest technology to help patients manage their heart problems safely and effectively.
