About me
Dr Usman Javaid is an NHS Consultant Endocrinologist & Diabetologist with specialist expertise in advanced diabetes technologies, medical weight management, and complex endocrine disorders. He offers high-quality, personalised care for hormonal and metabolic conditions, combining up-to-date clinical evidence with a supportive, patient-centred approach.
His specialist training was in the North East of England and has practised as a consultant in the region since 2020. Alongside his clinical role, he is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, mentoring, service and quality improvement, in endocrine and metabolic medicine. He has published and presented extensively in the field.
He has expertise in managing thyroid, adrenal and pituitary as well as PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) and hypogonadism. In diabetes care, he specialises in Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, insulin pump therapy, and continuous glucose monitoring to optimise long-term outcomes.
Dr Javaid is also highly experienced in obesity medicine, having extensive experience of medical therapies of weight and metabolic risk management.
