About me

Hello, my name is Fiona and I'm a BACP Accredited Person-Centred therapist. Are you looking for a safe space in which to explore your thoughts and feelings? Perhaps you have something specific you would like to talk about or maybe you are feeling like you are struggling with finding your direction in life? Or perhaps you don't know why you want to come for counselling, but you feel like it might help? Whatever the reason, we can take the time together to explore what it is you need for you to feel like you are more yourself.

I genuinely love working with people in a therapeutic way and I have comprehensive post-qualifying experience in a wide range of areas including education secondary schools and further/higher education; the NHS; in a hospice and with adults in the community.

Coming to person-centred counselling can be daunting if you haven't experienced it before. You may have chosen to come for therapy at a particular crisis point in your life, or you may be feeling low, or perhaps unable to pinpoint why you feel the way you do. From daily stress that becomes overwhelming; a major trauma, bereavement or loss; circumstances that are difficult to live with; or from issues rooted in childhood - whatever the reason for your situation, you can find space to talk and support to express yourself with me.

Areas of interest

I work with secondary school age young people right through the age range to senior citizens and with all genders and sexual identities.

I work with a wide variety of issues including, but not limited to:-

abuse; accidents; anger; anxiety; bullying; depression; difficult living circumstances; employment issues; end of life; financial issues; grief and loss; identity; life changes; low motivation; major life events; narcissism; not fulfilling life potential; relationship issues; self-harm; sexual abuse; sexuality; substance use; suicidal ideation; trauma, complex trauama; issues around food and eating; menpause; men's issues.

I am particularly interested in working with people who are thinking about a major life change such as change of career or changing where they live. Often, we act on these major life changes from a place where we are unhappy and unfulfilled, and I offer a safe space to explore emotions and practicalities of such life changes.
