About me
Professor Anirudh Pramod Bhandare is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and General Physician at Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust. He specialises in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions, including inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, reflux disease, coeliac disease, gastrointestinal bleeding, and bowel cancer screening.
He is an accredited diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopist with extensive experience in upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, colonoscopy, and advanced endoscopic procedures. His clinical interests include bowel cancer prevention, colon capsule endoscopy, quality improvement in endoscopy services, and innovation in gastroenterology care pathways.
Professor Bhandare serves as Deputy Clinical Director for Gastroenterology at Northern Care Alliance and Clinical Lead for the North West Endoscopy Network, leading regional initiatives to improve access, quality, and patient outcomes. He is also a Visiting Professor at the University of Bolton and is actively involved in research, medical education, and the training of future gastroenterologists.
