About me

I am an experienced consultant colorectal and general surgeon with specialist expertise in robotic and laparoscopic colorectal cancer surgery, benign colorectal conditions, and robotic hernia repairs as well as colonoscopies.

After graduating from the University of Dundee Medical School, I completed higher surgical training in the prestigious South-East Scotland and Edinburgh surgical training programme. I was appointed as a consultant surgeon at NHS Fife in 2022, and subsequently undertook 2 advanced fellowships in robotic colorectal surgery at internationally recognised centres: Singapore General Hospital and Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital. I returned to Scotland full-time in 2024, where I have since established a successful NHS practice in robotic & minimally invasive surgery, delivering excellent clinical outcomes and outstanding patient satisfaction scores.

I am a trainer in robotic surgery, mentoring consultant colleagues and helping shape the next generation of future surgeons. I am also passionate about advancing surgical care through active involvement in developing enhanced recovery pathways, technological innovation, research, and surgical education. I play a key role in the development of the new St Andrew's Medical School programme and regularly teach on national surgical courses.

As a JAG-accredited colonoscopist, I perform over 200 colonoscopies annually, consistently achieving results that exceed national standards and key performance indicators. I currently perform colonoscopies at the Shawfair Park Endoscopy Unit.

My private practice encompasses a full and comprehensive range of colorectal and general surgical procedures from colorectal cancer resections to haemorrhoid treatments, robotic hernia repairs to minor surgical procedures for skin lesions and soft tissue lumps.

Outside of medicine, I am passionate about fitness, a dedicated supporter of Arsenal FC, and an enthusiastic follower of American football and Formula One.
