Dr Grisham Smotra Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist
Dr Grisham Smotra is a highly experienced consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist with more than 20 years of expertise in womens health.
She specialises in the diagnosis and management of menstrual disorders, perimenopausal and menopausal conditions, ovarian cysts, fibroids, endometriosis and pelvic pain.
She also specialises in early pregnancy and its complications, recurrent miscarriages.
Dr Smotra runs dedicated one-stop gynaecology clinics for post-menopausal bleeding, ovarian cysts and early pregnancy. Her approach ensures that patients benefit from fast, accurate diagnosis and tailored treatment options within a supportive environment.
She is proficient in both open and minimally invasive surgery.
Dr Smotra is known for her compassionate, patient-centred ethos. She strongly believes in empowering women to take an active role in their health, ensuring they are supported at every stage of their care.
Her clinical expertise includes a wide range of office outpatient diagnostic and operative procedures, such as gynaecology ultrasound, early pregnancy ultrasound scanning, cervical smear, endometrial biopsy, coil insertion and removal, complex coil removals , polyp removals , outpatient hysteroscopy, endometrial ablation, treatment of submucous fibroids, and Word catheter placement for Bartholins cysts or abscesses.
Alongside her private practice, Dr Smotra is the Early Pregnancy and Acute Gynaecology Lead at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust, where she manages a busy NHS service. She graduated in medicine from Jammu University in 2003 and undertook higher specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology across leading hospitals in the West Midlands, gaining extensive experience in both general and acute gynaecology.
Dr Smotra is also a committed educator. She is a recognised RCOG trainer and accredited clinical examiner, sits on the annual appraisal panel for obstetrics and gynaecology trainees, and regularly contributes to the professional development of future specialists. Widely published in peer-reviewed journals, she has presented her research at both national and international conferences.
Her professional memberships include the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists RCOG, British society of gynaecological endoscopy BSGE, British menopause society BMS underlining her dedication to advancing womens health and maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice.
