About me

Mr Aditya Raja is a Consultant Urologist based in Harrogate, providing both NHS and private care to patients across North Yorkshire. He sees private patients at The Duchy Hospital and Harrogate Harlow.

He specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of kidney stone disease and prostate conditions, with a particular interest in minimally invasive urological surgery. His practice includes the management of kidney stones, urinary symptoms related to benign prostate enlargement (BPH), raised PSA, blood in the urine (haematuria), recurrent urinary tract infections, and a wide range of general urological conditions.

Mr Raja has expertise in endourological stone surgery, including ureteroscopy and laser stone treatment, as well as extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy (ESWL). He also performs minimally invasive treatments for bladder outflow obstruction, including UroLift, and has a strong interest in modern surgical technologies and patient-centred care pathways.

He is known for his calm, approachable manner and clear communication style. He understands that many urological symptoms can feel sensitive or worrying and aims to ensure that patients feel comfortable, well informed, and actively involved in decisions about their treatment.

Mr Raja was appointed as a Consultant Urologist at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust in 2024. Alongside his clinical work, he is Surgical Clinical Digital Lead and Urology Clinical Governance Lead within his NHS Trust, with particular interests in patient safety, quality improvement, and digital innovation in healthcare.

He is also actively involved in surgical education and regularly teaches on Royal College of Surgeons courses as well as within the Yorkshire and Humber regional urology training programme.
