About me
Dr Liz Simon is a Principal Clinical Psychologist who specialises in working therapeutically with people with physical health conditions. Having qualified from the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Sheffield University in 2003, Liz has over 20 years of experience in NHS posts including Older Adults, Chronic Pain Management, Cardiology and most recently/currently within an Intensive Care Unit in a Cardiothoracic Surgical Hospital.
Liz's knowledge of adjustment to physical illness models, allows her to work empathically and effectively with people who experience emotional distress linked to living with a health condition. Through thorough assessment and formulation, Liz will work with you to think about the impact of physical health conditions on your emotional well-being and coping, using psychological frameworks and therapy techniques to help you improve mood, quality of life and coping.
Liz is able to offer expert psychological assessment and therapy via video or telephone call. She can also arrange face-to-face sessions where preferred.
Liz is HCPC registered, a Chartered Clinical Psychologist and a member of the British Psychological Society. Liz has completed her Level one training within EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing) for therapeutic input with health-related trauma.
