About me
Dr Andrew Howe is a consultant general adult psychiatrist and psychodynamic therapist with a special interest in analytical (Jungian) psychology.
He has worked in the NHS for over ten years, quickly assuming senior roles as his career progressed, including interim associate medical director for Croydon. He has been the consultant psychiatrist for the Croydon Home Treatment Team since 2021. He also holds a master's degree with distinction in Jungian and Post-Jungian Studies, as well as a clinical qualification in psychodynamic therapy.
Outside of his clinical work, he has lectured and published numerous academic papers on analytical psychology and psychiatry, including one that won an international scholarship award. At present, he is studying a part-time PhD in the psychotherapy of hallucinations.
Andrew's background is in crisis mental health services, working with people with severe mental distress and difficulties daily. He is passionate about patient-centred approaches, individual treatment plans and helping people make informed choices about their treatment. He can work with people with a variety of different mental health conditions, and approaches problems holistically due to his additional background in psychology and psychotherapy.
