About me

Dr. DeSilva-Abeysinghe is a Consultant in Sport and Exercise Medicine (SEM), trained in the prestigious Pan-London SEM training programme specialising in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of musculoskeletal and sports-related injuries.
With a diverse and elite-level portfolio, he has held various roles at West Ham United FC, Tottenham Hotspur FC, England Cricket and the Royal Ballet School.

Currently serving as Consultant SEM for Paddle UK, he supports elite athletes in high-performance environments while also championing safe and inclusive access to sport.

His clinical interests lie in interventional and holistic musculoskeletal management, combining evidence-based diagnostics with lifestyle and rehabilitation-focused care. He is passionate about delivering integrated care that addresses not just the injury, but the individual behind it

Dr Desilva-Abeysinghe has extensive experience managing a wide range of injuries and conditions, from acute sports injuries such as ligament tears, fractures, and sprains to chronic issues like osteoarthritis, tendinopathies, and bone stress injuries.

In his clinics, he performs diagnostic ultrasound during consultations and arranges advanced imaging such as MRI and CT scans to ensure accurate and timely diagnoses. He collaborates closely with physiotherapists, osteopaths, strength and conditioning coaches, and other healthcare professionals to create tailored rehabilitation plans, empowering patients to take control of their recovery.

Dr Desilva-Abeysinghe treats individuals of all ages, including young athletes, busy professionals, and older adults. His goal is to reduce pain, improve function, and help patients return to the activities they love. He also provides ongoing support and follow-up care to ensure lasting recovery and injury prevention.
