About me

Do you feel weighed down by depression, anxiety, over-thinking, emptiness or a loss of meaning? Do relationships leave you lonely, unfulfilled, or stuck in patterns of people-pleasing? Are you troubled by traumatic or painful memories?

Hi, I'm Gabrielle, and I am a fully qualified, relationally trained therapist who helps people build self-esteem, overcome anxiety and worry/overthinking, form more satisfying connections and rediscover purpose. You may feel you've never truly belonged, or carry the wounds of childhood abuse, neglect or bullying. You may live with an inner voice that's often critical or unkind. Perhaps a sudden trauma, betrayal, or loss has shaken your life and left you questioning everything.

If this resonates, know you're not alone. I'm here to listen without judgment and walk alongside you - together we can try to make sense of your experiences.

How I work:

My approach is collaborative - we work together as equals, exploring at a pace that feels right for you. I'm skilled in working somatically, helping you tune in to your nervous system and notice what's happening in your body in the moment. Together, we can make links between your early life experiences and attachments, which form the template for your life, and the difficulties you face today. I see the therapeutic relationship itself as a safe container where old relational wounds can be gently explored and healed. I also have particular experience in working with the inner critic, supporting you to understand its role throughout your life and soften its impact.

My Specialisms

Mindfulness:
This can help you calm panicky feelings, identify what emotions and sensations you are feeling, build tolerance for strong emotions or gently reconnect with your body and feelings if you've been struggling with dissociation or disconnectedness. Over time mindfulness can help you to become less ruled by your emotions and have more choice in how you respond to situations.

Inner child work:
We explore the wounded younger parts of yourself that may still be following old rules from the past. These parts can tend to react to present situations as if they were past traumatic ones and cause us you overreact creating problems for yourself. Together, we can update those patterns, ground in the present, offer comfort, and create a more compassionate inner environment. I facilitate this work through a variety of methods such as grounding, listening to the body, imagination, creativity and play.
