About me

My name is Dr Jenny Thomson and I am a HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist. I have eight years experience working across NHS mental health services, including adult and child community services, hospitals, and specialist services.

Through both my professional and personal experiences I have gained a profound understanding of how helpful, healing and transformative therapy is, and I truly care about providing a safe space for my clients. I work with a person-centred approach, meaning we will work together to explore what brings you to therapy, what you would like to gain from it, and how we can achieve this together.

I offer therapy for a range of difficulties including anxiety, low mood, burnout, low self-esteem, OCD, panic and phobias. I have a particular interest in working with trauma and PTSD. I offer both structured therapies such as CBT and ACT, as well as more explorative therapies such as psychodynamic informed therapy.

I also work as a certified yoga instructor which I greatly enjoy. I have found that elements of yoga, such as breathwork and meditation techniques, can be powerful tools in therapy, and am happy to offer these for those who are interested.
