I offer Bupa customers standard cataract surgery on the Full Pathway package option at Ramsay Exeter Medical .
This package includes your appointments before and after surgery, as well as your surgery and mono-focal lenses. It means you won’t use up your out-patient benefit or receive any additional bills from your surgeon (or anaesthetist, if you need one) for eligible treatment.

About me
I went to Medical School at Otago University in Dunedin, New Zealand, graduating in 1984. I trained in Paediatric Medicine in Auckland for 3 years before starting Ophthalmology training in Auckland and then Christchurch, NZ. After qualifying as a Consultant Ophthalmologist, I worked in Bunbury, Western Australia and then was a Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada in 1995 for 12 months. After Canada, I moved with my family to Exeter, Devon, where I have worked ever since, as a Consultant Ophthalmologist at the Royal Devon University Hospital in Exeter and in private practice. I founded Exeter Eye with my colleagues in 2005, and have been Chair of Exeter Eye since then.
I expanded my clinical practice to refractive surgery and performed Laser Eye Surgery from 2010 to 2022. I now specialise in refractive cataract surgery and refractive lens exchange, using intraocular lenses to correct my patients' focus and achieve the least need for glasses after surgery. Until 2025, I provided a regional paediatric cataract surgery service to patients from Devon, Cornwall and southern Somerset. I am now handing this service over to Miss Annika Quinn and Miss Ellie Hearne in RDUH, Exeter.
My daughter Annika is also a Consultant Ophthalmologist in Exeter.
