About me
I am a CBT and EMDR therapist, and I work with adults experiencing a range of difficulties including PTSD, Trauma, OCD, Anxiety, Worry, Depression, Low Self Esteem, Perfectionism, and Phobias. My work involves understanding and challenging some of the thoughts you have developed as a result of the experiences you have been through, reducing the emotional intensity of your current distress, whilst helping you to reconnect with your values and live in a way which is meaningful to you.
I'm here to support you with compassion and genuine curiosity, taking the time to understand your unique experience. Therapy is a collaborative process; you bring your insights and self-awareness, and I provide professional guidance and therapeutic tools to help you feel understood and empowered. Together, we will tailor each session to address what matters most to you.
While I primarily use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Eye-Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), I also draw on other approaches like Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), which helps us make sense of how our brains respond to threat, and encourages self-kindness in the face of shame or self-criticism. Additionally, I incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you make space for distressing emotions and focus on living in alignment with your values and what is meaningful to you.
I have over 14 years of experience of working as a practitioner within mental health settings, and I strongly believe that therapy can help shift the patterns and behaviours that no longer serve you creating room for growth, connection, and change that feels authentic and lasting.
If you'd like to book an appointment you can call or email me. I offer appointments on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, both face to face or by remote video call. I also offer a free 15 minute initial call, so we can get to know each other a little, talk through what you're looking for, and see if it feels like a good fit.
You might not be sure what kind of support you need - that's completely okay. I'll work with you to understand what's going on and what will help. It's important to me that therapy feels like a space where you can be yourself - without judgement, pressure, or having to explain everything straight away.
