About me

I am a Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years' experience of working with people with severe and enduring mental health difficulties. I offer assessment and therapy to adults and young people experiencing a broad range of difficulties, which include anxiety disorders, depression, mood disorders, relationship difficulties, adjustment to life events and trauma.

My specialist area is trauma, which includes post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and complex PTSD (CPSTD). I work with individuals who have experienced single-event trauma such as road traffic accidents, as well as those with more complex presentations such as survivors of childhood trauma, sexual trauma, and intimate partner violence. I also work with professionals in high-risk roles, for example, police officers and healthcare staff, who are regularly exposed to traumatic situations.

My therapeutic approach is holistic and integrative (i.e. combining therapeutic approaches where appropriate). I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), a body-based therapy that helps alleviate distress from traumatic memories by tapping into the body's natural healing instincts, as well as restoring a felt sense of safety and self.

I am also an accredited Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) Practitioner. CAT is a relational therapy that helps individuals understand how patterns in relationships reflect survival strategies from earlier life experiences. Through this understanding, clients can explore new ways of being and find relief from emotional distress.

My work is grounded in compassion, collaboration, and respect. I aim to create a safe therapeutic space where individuals feel supported to reconnect with their strengths and move toward recovery and wellbeing.
