About me

Hello, I'm Naomi, an experienced and passionate HCPC-registered psychologist. Since completing my doctorate in 2014, I have worked in NHS services, private practice and educational settings. I have helped hundreds of individuals with difficulties including: anxiety, stress, perfectionism, relationship difficulties, depression, sleep difficulties, overwhelm and managing life's big transitions such as parenthood.

I have a particular interest in supporting people experiencing anxiety and the challenges that often accompany it. In therapy, we focus on helping you:

Feel more grounded and less overwhelmed
Manage anxiety and everyday stress more effectively
Improve sleep and rest more consistently
Understand and regulate intense emotions
Strengthen confidence and decision-making
Develop a kinder, more supportive inner voice
Rather than just managing symptoms, our work centres on building practical tools and insight that continue to support you beyond therapy.

Therapeutic Approach
My approach to therapy is client-centred, creating a warm, compassionate and non-judgmental space for us to work together. I support you to better understand your current difficulties and reduce the impact they are having on your life. Together, we will develop tools and strategies that you can benefit from as you move forward.

My work is pluralistic and grounded in evidence-based therapies. Because everyone is different with unique experiences and needs, I adapt the way we work together accordingly. Rather than expecting you to fit a particular model, we draw from different approaches in a way that feels relevant and useful to you. While psychology includes specific theories, often referred to by acronyms, I will always explain what we're doing and why in clear, straightforward language.

I most commonly use the following approaches:

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): A structured, practical approach that explores the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): Helps you develop psychological flexibility and live in greater alignment with your values.
Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT): Supports you in managing self-criticism by fostering a more compassionate inner voice.
Person-Centred Therapy: Offers a deeply empathetic, non-judgemental space to explore your experiences.

Ultimately, the most important aspect of therapy is that it feels safe, useful, and meaningful to you.I will regularly check in on your progress to make sure therapy is supporting you in the best possible way. These touchpoints help us stay on track and adjust our work together as needed.
