About me
I trained as a CBT therapist in 2009 before widening my repertoire of therapeutic approaches during my doctoral level qualification in the field of clinical psychology in 2011-2014. I work intergratively utilising my specialist training in cognitive and behavioural approaches, combined with attachment based interventions. I also draw upon my knowledge and experience of cognitive analytical techniques and psychodynamic perspectives. This means I am able to tailor evidence-based interventions to your unique presentation. I treat a wide range of common mental health problems ranging from depression and anxiety to complex Post traumatic stress disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, personality disorders and difficulties with emotional regulation.
Areas of interest
I have an interest in working with complex trauma, whether that be a single incident trauma such as a car crash or multiple traumas such as childhood sexual abuse, historical domestic violence and emotional abuse/ neglect. I work with working aged adults aged 18-65 and I have 19 years experience of working in mental health settings within the NHS. I am regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council as a Practitioner Psychologist and I am accredited with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
