About me
Hello, I am Laura.
Alongside my training as a cognitive behavioural therapist for anxiety and depression, I am also a couple's therapist. I very experienced in working with people with depression, anxiety and complex trauma. I have undertaken training to enable me to offer more than one way to treat trauma. As well as working with people I also support other therapist with their work.
I am committed to continuing my studies which means I am able to provide the most up to date therapy practises recommended by NICE guidelines. I regularly undertake university level training.
I with individuals or couples over the age of 18, who identify as any gender or sexual orientation. I can adapt sessions for people with neurodiversity or learning challenges. I will make sure sessions go at a pace that you feel comfortable with.
Through sessions we will be able to understand your thoughts, feelings and behaviours currently, and how you have gotten to today. We will consider what changes you are able to make to ensure that you are back living your best life. Often by understanding what has happened in the past we can better understand what is challenging us today.
Vicious cycles can start slowing and build up over time. What makes things easier in the short term can often have a larger impact in the longer term. Understanding these cycles can be key to then breaking them with some new positive coping strategies.
I have over 10years experience working within the field of mental health. My academic successes alongside my own personal life experiences have supported me to become a compassionate, intuitive psychotherapist who can support you to make short-, medium and long-term life goals.
I offer evening and weekend sessions remotely. I also have an office in Winchester where I hold in-person sessions on a Wednesday for those who prefer in person therapy.
Anyone who is considering therapy can have a free initial 30-minute consultation with myself. This is a space for us to get to know each other and to talk through ways in which I can support you. There is no obligation after this to start therapy.
