About me
Mr Ramkishan Balakumar is a UK-trained Consultant Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Surgeon providing private care for adults and children across Swindon and Wiltshire.
He is an NHS Consultant at Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where he serves as Paediatric ENT Lead and Facial Plastics Lead. During his higher surgical training, he worked at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, undertaking both elective and emergency paediatric ENT procedures and managing a wide range of complex airway conditions. He also contributes to regional training in emergency paediatric airway management as a faculty member of the Make the Airway Safe Team.
Mr Balakumar provides consultant-led assessment and treatment across the full spectrum of adult and paediatric ENT conditions, with particular expertise in paediatric ENT, sinus and nasal disorders including sinusitis and septal deviation, and facial skin cancer surgery and reconstruction. He has performed over 200 facial skin cancer excisions and reconstructions, primarily involving high-risk areas of the face and neck, and is a core member of the regional Skin Cancer Multidisciplinary Team.
Patients are seen personally at each stage of care, with time taken to listen carefully, examine thoroughly and explain treatment options clearly.
