About me

Professor Gianluca Rompianesi is a highly experienced consultant surgeon specialising in hepatobiliary, pancreatic, transplant and robotic surgery. With over 15 years of international clinical and academic experience, including clinical fellowships at Royal Free Hospital (London), Oxford University Hospital, Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and Guy's and St. Thomas' Hospital (London), he offers expert care in complex liver, pancreas, and biliary conditions, including cancer surgery, transplantation, and advanced minimally invasive procedures.

He holds dual fellowships from the European Board of Surgery in both Hepato-Bilio-Pancreatic Surgery and Transplantation, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Mr Rompianesi has particular expertise in robotic HPB surgery and living donor kidney transplantation, and currently leads the Living Donor Transplantation Programme at Federico II University Hospital in Naples, Italy, where he is also Assistant Professor of Surgery.

Previously a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Oxford, he maintains a strong academic profile, with over 150 peer-reviewed publications and multiple international awards for clinical research and surgical innovation. He is a board member of the European Society for Organ Transplantation and sits on editorial boards for leading surgical journals.
